Overview

Whether you need assistance with appeals in the areas of divorce, property division, alimony or spousal support, child custody, child support, alimony, guardianship, prenuptial agreements, or virtually any family-related appellate or research problem, I can can help. Having been admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1981, I have more than a quarter century of experience writing trial and appellate briefs and arguing appeals in the Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court.

Family Law Appeals

Appellate law in Michigan is a demanding and exacting practice. Procedural rules can be difficult to follow for all but the most experienced appellate attorneys. Your appeal should be handled by an attorney with not only a substantive knowledge of family law, but also with experience in the complex procedural aspects of handling an appeal in Michigan.  I can serve as your sole appellate counsel or can co-counsel the appeal with your trial counsel or other Michigan counsel of your choosing.  Appellate research and brief writing services are also available.

Family Law Trial Court Matters

For 40 years I have been one of Michigan's leading family law attorneys. As a past-chairperson of the State Bar Family Law Section, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and a prolific writer on family law topics, I can work with your trial counsel in formulating issues, drafing motions and briefs, and preparing for trial.
